As a mechanical product, to ensure the long-lasting use of a highway pile driver, maintenance is essential. Here are some tips on how to maintain some parts of the highway pile driver.
Engine:
Use genuine parts for engine oil and oil filters. Replace them according to the recommended maintenance schedule. For older machines, shorten the replacement intervals to ensure the engine lasts longer.
Before starting work each day, drain water from the bottom of the diesel tank and the water separator. Use genuine diesel filters and replace them according to the maintenance schedule.
Frequently check the air filter. When the outer filter is dusty, blow compressed air from the inside out, but be careful not to use too much pressure to avoid damaging the filter. Do not clean the inner filter by blowing. After cleaning the outer filter two or three times, replace both the inner and outer filters with new ones.
Avoid prolonged idling to save fuel, as this can cause engine carbon buildup.
Electrical:
Avoid deep-water operations and do not wash electrical components directly with water when cleaning.
Do not store miscellaneous items, especially metal tools, in the battery box to prevent fire hazards.
Do not replace fuses with iron or copper wire, and avoid using non-standard fuses.
If the excavator is to be parked for a long period, disconnect the battery to prevent power drain.
Hydraulic:
Replace hydraulic oil, return oil filters, and pilot filters according to the maintenance schedule. Check for metal particles on the filters.
When using breakers, the hydraulic oil degrades faster, so shorten the replacement intervals.
Do not operate the pile driver with low oil levels. After replacing hydraulic oil or hydraulic components, ensure to bleed the air out of the system.
Mechanical:
Replace the gear oil in the travel reducer according to the maintenance schedule.
Clean dirt and debris from the pins and bushings and apply grease.
During water operations, protect the cylinder rods from rust. When parking the pile driver for an extended period, coat exposed metal parts with grease to prevent rust.
