Daily Maintenance and Break-In Period Care for Highway Guardrail Pile Drivers

The highway guardrail pile driver can be used in many scenarios such as highways, farms, ranches, orchards, etc., for guardrail drilling, piling, and pulling out tasks. It boasts precise positioning, quick movement, high accuracy, long lifespan, fuel efficiency, and environmental friendliness. Additionally, its hydraulic hammer can be folded for easy transport, making it a popular piece of road equipment nowadays. To facilitate your use of the pile driver, today we will discuss its daily maintenance and the maintenance during the break-in period. Let's take a look:

1. Daily inspection and maintenance of the highway guardrail pile driver.

(1)Before each shift or after work, check all threaded connections on the pile driver for looseness, especially the bolts connecting the main unit and the working device. Tighten them immediately if any are found to be loose.

(2)Visually inspect hydraulic components for leaks at their joints and all pipeline connections before use.

(3)Before starting work each day, run the machine at low speed for a few minutes (longer in winter) and operate each handle as a warm-up exercise.

(4)Lubricate all lubrication points once per shift.

(5)Clean the entire machine after work, wiping off dust and oil stains on the pile driver's body to prevent paint from rusting and peeling.

2. Use and maintenance during the break-in period of the highway guardrail pile driver.

(1)The first 100 hours of operation of the highway pile driver is considered the break-in period, during which the machine should be used carefully without overloading. The quality of use during the break-in period greatly affects the machine's lifespan.

(2)After working for 50 hours, check that the cleanliness level of the hydraulic oil is not lower than grade 18/15. Also, check and clean the oil intake and return filters, then every 200 hours afterwards. Be mindful to check for any damage to rubber or asbestos gaskets and replace them if necessary.

(3)Check the hydraulic oil level every 50 hours to maintain the correct oil level.

(4)After 400 hours of operation, the hydraulic oil tank should be thoroughly cleaned. Drain the hydraulic oil from the tank, reinstall the plug, remove and clean the air filter's mesh before putting it back, fill the tank with about half of the hydraulic oil, then drain again. Clean the fuel filter mesh and put it back in place, fill up with hydraulic oil. The air filter and its filter element should be checked regularly.

(5)After 800 hours of operation, replace the entire machine's hydraulic oil, which should be done while the oil is hot. Before draining, ensure the working device is grounded and the engine is off. After draining, thoroughly check and clean the oil intake, return filters, air filter cartridge, pipelines, and all joint surfaces.

(6)In hot weather conditions, with high ambient temperatures, adjust the operating times of the highway guardrail pile driver (preferably work in the morning or evening) or shorten the continuous operation time.

(7)When the guardrail pile driver is parked for a long period, release all nitrogen gas from the hydraulic hammer, and ensure no oil ports are exposed.
