The upcoming May Day holiday is fast approaching, and many are eagerly anticipating returning home for festivities or enjoying nature. But wait! Before you rush off, let's take a moment to learn some important techniques for shutting down your excavator during the holiday!
01
Precaution One
When parking the excavator, choose a solid and flat ground. Professional operators, when possible, will position the arm of the excavator vertically to the ground with the back of the bucket flat on the ground. This position ensures that all cylinders are not under pressure, which is beneficial for protecting the seals of the hydraulic cylinders. To prevent damage to the cylinder from any leaking oil, retract the bucket cylinder completely and place the bucket upright on the ground, if the surrounding conditions allow it.
02
Precaution Two
Before long-term storage of the excavator, first remove any mud adhering to the body, lubricate various parts of the machine, check the lubricating oil, and ensure it is at the proper level to prevent contamination.
03
Precaution Three
After retracting the cylinders to avoid damage from heavy objects, apply grease to the parts that are not fully retracted to prevent rusting. Change the engine oil as well, as old oil can corrode the metal parts of the engine when the excavator is parked for a long time.
04
Precaution Four
Position the fuel control lever of the excavator to the idle position, and set all control levers to neutral. Lubricate the components once more and charge the battery. (Before starting, fill up with coolant, and after finishing, drain the coolant completely.)
05
Precaution Five
With these points taken care of, you can go on your holiday with peace of mind!
