The pile frame is a steel structure tower with a winch at the back to lift piles and the pile hammer. At the front of the pile frame, there is a guide frame made of two guide rods that control the piling direction, ensuring the pile is driven accurately into the ground as per design. The tower and guide frame can pivot together to drive angled piles. The guide frame can also extend downwards along the tower to drive underwater piles along embankments or docks.

Small piling machines mainly include wheeled and crawler-type piling machines. The basic technical parameters of a piling machine are impact weight, impact energy, and impact frequency. Pile hammers can be divided into drop hammers, steam hammers, diesel hammers, and hydraulic hammers.
