Why Does a Hydraulic Crawler Piling Rig Emit White Smoke?

During the operation of hydraulic crawler piling rigs, you may encounter the phenomenon of white smoke. Don't be overly alarmed. The appearance of white smoke is due to the mixture of diesel and air not burning sufficiently, resulting in white mist-like emissions. Let's analyze the specific reasons below.

This occurs when the temperature of the piling rig is too low, especially in winter, if it is not preheated or not sufficiently preheated. Operating a crawler piling rig under load in such conditions can lead to the emission of white smoke. However, this type of white smoke caused by low temperature will automatically disappear after the rig operates for a while and the temperature rises.

Another reason could be that the timing of fuel supply is too delayed or the amount of fuel supplied is too little, causing the hydraulic crawler piling rig to emit white smoke. This is because the mixture of diesel and air is too lean to ignite, and cylinders with insufficient fuel supply or operating under poor conditions will experience this. Nozzle clogging leading to poor atomization can cause intermittent white smoke; too much water in the fuel, or coolant leaking into the cylinder, causing the cylinder's temperature to be too low to ignite, will also lead to the appearance of white smoke.

Although white smoke from a hydraulic crawler piling rig is not a major issue, it still warrants attention. Proper preheating and daily cylinder checks are essential to ensure the normal operation of the piling rig.
