Warm congratulations to Shandong Hengwang Group for the installation of its pile driving machines in the Dubai Solar Thermal Photovoltaic Hybrid Power Station project.
From September 9 to 12, local time, the 24th World Energy Congress was held in Abu Dhabi. Shanghai Electric took the global stage with its comprehensive energy solutions, becoming a popular local attraction. The highlight of the exhibition was the globally acclaimed mega-project — the Dubai 950MW Solar Thermal Photovoltaic Hybrid Power Station. Nearly every visitor to the Shanghai Electric pavilion stopped to admire the model, attracting keen interest from local government officials, Chinese dignitaries, Chinese corporate delegations, and domestic and international media journalists.
The Dubai Solar Thermal Photovoltaic Hybrid Power Station was the all-star project of the exhibition area. The Noor Energy 1, a 950MW solar thermal and photovoltaic power generation project and part of the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, is located in a desert 65 kilometers south of downtown Dubai. With a total investment of 4.4 billion USD and covering an area of 44 square kilometers, it is the largest solar thermal power station in the world to date. The project includes 1×100MW molten salt tower type and 3×200MW trough type solar thermal power installations, totaling 700MW, plus a 250MW photovoltaic power generation installation. The total investment amounts to 15.78 billion Dirhams (approximately 28.85739 billion RMB). The project owners are DEWA, ACWA Power, and China's Silk Road Fund, with Shanghai Electric as the EPC general contractor. Once operational, the project will provide clean electricity to over 270,000 households in Dubai each year and reduce carbon emissions by 1.4 million tons.
