The Dubai 950MW solar thermal-photovoltaic hybrid project in the United Arab Emirates is a key national project under China's "Belt and Road" initiative and a landmark project in the Middle Eastern market. The project includes 1×100MW molten salt tower type and 3×200MW trough type solar thermal power installations, totaling 700MW, in addition to 250MW of photovoltaic power generation capacity. The total investment is approximately 28.8 billion RMB. The project is a joint investment by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, China's Silk Road Fund, and Saudi International Electric and Water Group. It is understood that this project has set world records in terms of investment scale and cost-effectiveness. Once completed, it will provide clean electricity to over 320,000 households in Dubai annually and reduce carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons each year.
