Drilling Rig: Also known as a drilling machine. In geological exploration, drilling equipment is driven into the ground to obtain mechanical equipment used for physical geological data. Its primary function is to drive the drill bit to break the rock at the bottom of the hole, which is used to extract core samples, rock chips, gas samples, liquid samples, etc., to explore underground geology and mineral resources.

Engineering Drill Rig: Used for foundation piles or pipe piles that reinforce building foundations during construction.

Due to the convenience of engineering construction, engineering drill rigs can be divided into various types based on different geological environments. Among them, there are two types of composite drills that combine impact and rotation. One example is the pneumatic down-the-hole (DTH) hammer drill machine. The DTH hammer drill consists of a cylinder sleeve and a piston. A high-pressure air compressor pushes the piston up and down to reciprocate, impacting the drill bit to enhance its ability to penetrate the rock layer. Simultaneously, the drill bit rotates at a lower speed of 35 to 60 rpm. Air leaving the upper and lower chambers of the piston enters the drill bit, carrying the cuttings from the bottom of the hole to the surface. The pneumatic DTH hammer drill machine can be used for deep well drilling in hard rock layers with high drilling speed and straight boreholes. Another type adds an impact mechanism based on the rotary drilling rig, primarily using rotary drilling.
