In winter, when the temperature suddenly drops, pile drivers need to be prepared for use in low temperatures, or it will affect the construction efficiency of the machinery. This is also true for foundation pile drivers. Today, I will introduce the preparation work for operating pile drivers in low-temperature environments:

Start with Preheating: In winter, due to the high viscosity of engine oil, lubricant is insufficiently spread over all lubrication points in a short time. If the engine operates at high speed under these conditions, the wear on the crankshaft, camshaft, and rocker arm shaft will intensify, leading to severe issues like cylinder scoring or bearing damage. Idling preheating ensures that the machine is in a normal operating state before construction, ensuring the efficiency of the machine and reducing the occurrence of faults.

Low Load Operation: After starting, low load trial operation is an essential preparation work that should not be overlooked. The cold temperatures of winter can cause mechanical parts to become brittle due to a decrease in strength and rigidity, and using foundation pile driving parts is likely to result in damaged components.

Correct Use of Oil: Before construction in winter, it's crucial to choose and add lubricating oil of the appropriate specification according to the local temperature. Lubricating oil can absorb water, air, acidic substances, and harmful gases from part surfaces to prevent them from contacting the parts. Moreover, lubricating oil also has the functions of shock absorption and cleaning. In winter, due to the cold weather, lubricating oil becomes thick, semi-solid, and semi-fluid, unable to flow smoothly. Poor quality oil will stop flowing, increasing friction when engine parts operate at high speeds, leading to system component burnout or even engine shutdown.

Furthermore, in the winter operation of foundation pile drivers, more thoughtful and meticulous work should be done to reduce the occurrence of failures.
