How Beijing Pile Drivers Operate According to Different Soil Layers

A pile driver is a type of piling machinery that uses impact force to drive piles into the strata. In sandy layers, the vibration of the pile driver disrupts the combination of soil particles, leading to liquefaction, reducing the resistance of the soil around the pile and the pile itself, facilitating pile sinking. However, for dense sandy layers and loose fine sand layers, due to the characteristics of the soil, the vibration effect will be weakened. At this point, different vibration outputs should be selected. The vibrating pile driver operates by vibrating the pile through high-frequency vibrations, transmitting the mechanical vertical vibration to the pile, causing changes in the soil structure around the pile. This reduces the strength of the soil around the pile, causes liquefaction, thereby reducing the frictional resistance between the pile and the soil. The pile is then driven into the soil through vibration and its own weight, and pulled out under high-frequency vibration. If the soil is too hard and sinking too slow during the vibration process, a hoist can be used to increase the sinking or lifting pressure by about 0.5-1.1m, and then quickly drive the pile down. The required excitation force of the pile driver should be comprehensively determined based on site soil layers, soil properties, water content, pile type, and structure. Pile sinking generally uses the 100-400kn vibration method, which is highly efficient.
