As urbanization in China continues to deepen, the demand for small, multipurpose agricultural machinery is increasing. Tracked transport vehicles are widely used in water conservancy construction, infrastructure projects, and transportation in agricultural and forestry orchards due to their ability to adapt to complex and harsh road conditions such as paddy fields, marshlands, muddy field roads, rugged mountain paths, soft grasslands, and slippery ice and snow surfaces.
In private messages, many friends have asked how to extend the service life of tracked transport vehicles. Xiao Wang has summarized some tips for the use and maintenance of tracked transport vehicles, and I'd like to share them with you today.
01 Drive Carefully
When driving agricultural tracked transport vehicles, be careful not to cross obstacles at high speed, and avoid sharp turns under heavy loads. Drive at low speed on uneven roads, and try to avoid emergency braking. Do not let the driving system slip severely when climbing with a load or driving on muddy roads.
02 Check Front Wheel Alignment
If the front wheel of an agricultural tracked transport vehicle is excessively outward or has a small front toe-in, it is prone to uneven wear during driving. This is mainly due to deformation of the front axle bearings and bushings from impact, or loosening of the front axle telescopic sleeve fastening device, which can change the front wheel alignment angle, causing abnormal wear. Therefore, regularly check and adjust the front wheel alignment angle and front toe-in during use.
03 Timely Cleaning and Maintenance
After using the agricultural tracked transport vehicle, promptly clean (wash) the wheels and tracks of any mud to keep the driving system clean, especially the end face oil seal of the load-bearing wheel, which should be cleaned, checked, and maintained in a timely manner. Additionally, avoid contamination of rubber tires with corrosive substances such as oil, acid, and alkali.
04 Maintain Proper Track Tension
Before using the agricultural tracked transport vehicle, carefully check if the tracks are appropriate. Both too loose or too tight tracks can cause accelerated wear of the track plates, track shafts, and wheels, so maintain an appropriate tension.
05 Pay Attention to Operating Conditions
When operating in low-lying paddy fields, try to avoid getting the vehicle stuck. If stuck, use towing and pushing to extricate it, and do not increase the throttle (causing black smoke) to make the driving system idle. When operating in dry land with sharp stubbles and high remaining stalks, prevent the tires from being punctured and the axle from being entangled by crop straw.
