Regular maintenance work is indispensable when using a pile driver. It is unwise to neglect maintenance in order to expedite project progress. To better extend the equipment's lifespan and enhance economic benefits without significantly impacting the overall effect, it is essential to properly warm up the machine before use.
Due to the characteristics of the breaker itself, which has a high impact force and frequency, it wears out seal components much faster than other hammers. Thus, warming up can slow down the wear process of the oil seals.
Hydraulic oil forms a solid oil film in a static state and adheres between the piston and oil seal. Warming up the pile driver is meant to flush the relatively solid hydraulic oil film with wet hydraulic oil, thereby establishing a new hydraulic oil film to expand the oil seal, ensuring that the piston and oil seal do not suffer initial tensile damage.
Lift the pile driver vertically off the ground, press the foot valve to about 1/3 of its travel distance, and observe a slight vibration in the main oil inlet pipe. Maintain this foot pedal travel for about 20 to 40 minutes.
When the pile driver starts, it is in a cold state. Suddenly introducing hot oil can cause significant damage to the oil seals due to thermal expansion and contraction, and the high frequency of movement may lead to more frequent oil leaks and oil seal replacements.
