Excavators have significant risks due to dust accumulation; get the cleaning guide with one click!

Excavators have become an indispensable piece of equipment in construction machinery operations. They facilitate tasks in many fields that are challenging for humans, such as road construction, demolition, and digging sewers.

After operating an excavator, it's essential to clean various parts like the tracks, shell, air filter, and bucket. This cleaning process is a crucial step to ensure smooth operation in future construction tasks. Neglecting it could lead to malfunctions in the excavator.

Step One: Use diesel to soften the dirt.

Pour diesel into a spray bottle and spray it onto the greased areas. Wait for about 10 to 30 minutes, and then proceed to scrape and wash it again. This time, you can use a steel wool pad to vigorously scrape off the dirt. Normally, this process won't scrape off the paint.

Step Two: Soften with heavy-duty degreaser.

After using the diesel, pour in a heavy-duty degreaser and spray it. Pay attention to the following: Heavy-duty degreasers have strong oil-removing capabilities, so it's advisable to first spray a little on the paint for a patch test. Some machines with poor-quality paint or older paint jobs might experience paint peeling or whitening after spraying. Heavy-duty degreasers can be corrosive and may cause skin and nail irritation, leading to pain and itching. It's important to wear rubber gloves for protection. If possible, wear protective eyewear, or choose a degreaser that is not harmful to the skin.

Step Three: Soften and clean again.

After spraying the diesel and heavy-duty degreaser, the grease starts to soften. Repeat the above steps and scrape off the dirt again. If some dirt cannot be removed by scraping, use hand-washing powder, which is specifically designed to remove grease. Combine it with a steel wool pad, and you can easily remove the stubborn grease stains.

Step Four: Wipe off surface residual stains.

Once the grease is mostly cleaned, the painted surface will still have oily residue. At this point, mix some laundry detergent with water and use this solution to wipe down the painted surface.

Step Five: Use a high-pressure water gun for rinsing.

Using a high-pressure water gun for rinsing will generally clean the excavator effectively. If a high-pressure water gun is not available, slowly washing with clean water can also achieve a very clean result. If it's still not clean, repeating the above steps should suffice.

The use of excavators greatly improves the efficiency of industrial construction. Keeping the excavator clean and maintaining its critical operating parts daily can extend its lifespan. Through the introduction above, it is believed that you now have a better understanding of this process.
