Hot, hot, hot... Summer has arrived, here's a guide to construction machinery air conditioning maintenance, to keep you cool all summer!

Warning!

The scorching summer heat is coming!

With the arrival of high temperatures, most regions in our country have entered a difficult and hot summer. For those in construction machinery, this is the toughest season. We can't hide in air-conditioned rooms but must endure the scorching sun. If your construction machinery has air conditioning, how can you ensure it doesn't fail during the hot summer days?

NO.1 Summer Air Conditioning Maintenance

Pre-operation Check:

1.Check the alignment and tension of the V-belt that drives the compressor. When replacing a new belt, ensure it is parallel to the engine pulley.

2.Check the proper refrigerant amount using pressure methods.

3..Inspect the condenser heat exchanger surface for foreign objects.

4.Use compressed air to clean around the compressor, especially preventing foreign objects between the clutch disc and pulley.

5.Check the nuts and screws around the compressor for secure connections.

6.Look for refrigerant leak traces at the connection points of the refrigerant pipe and inside the unit.

7.Check for defects on the refrigerant pipe surface due to interference or friction with the vehicle body.

During Operation Check:

Listen for any abnormal noise from the compressor.

Check if the control board's cooling and other switches are working normally.

Examine the starting ability of the evaporator fan motor and whether the air temperature at the outlet decreases.

NO.2 Troubleshooting Causes and Measures

Evaporator Motor Not Starting:

1.Poor power line connection, inspect the power connection status.

2.Power fuse blown, check and replace the fuse.

3.Electrical wire breakage or short circuit, check for power and short circuits.

Insufficient Airflow:

1.Poor start-up of the evaporator motor, check and replace if necessary.

2.Foreign objects attached to the evaporator heat exchanger surface, clean with compressed air or water.

3.Evaporator heat exchanger freezing, check the temperature sensor to prevent freezing.

4.Air leakage, check for leaks between the evaporator and the air duct.

Low Pressure Too Low:

1.Blockage in dryer or pipes, a temperature difference at the inlet and outlet of the dryer: Replace the dryer.

2.Expansion valve freezing or blockage, check for blockage, and confirm internal freezing due to moisture.

3.Running under low outside temperatures: Frost formation on the low-pressure pipe, adjust the temperature setting on the control board upwards.

Low Pressure Too High:

1.Expansion valve malfunction, replace the expansion valve.

2.Compressor pulley malfunction: When high and low pressure are almost the same, check the compressor pulley.

High Pressure Too Low:

1.Expansion valve malfunction, replace the expansion valve.

2.Compressor pulley malfunction: When high and low pressure are almost the same, check the compressor pulley.

High Pressure Too High:

1.Poor condensing in the condenser, check the surface of the condenser heat exchanger for foreign objects and clean.

2.Overcharged refrigerant: Too low temperature or too high pressure in the low-pressure pipe, release refrigerant and vacuum before injecting the appropriate amount of refrigerant.

Abnormal Noise Occurrence:

Damage or deformation of the evaporator fan, check and replace.

In the hot summer days, to do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools. Only good equipment can improve efficiency. If you encounter such situations next time, everyone now has good solutions. If you find this useful, feel free to share it with your friends.
