Issues to be Aware of When Using Electricity with a Crawler Pile Driver

Despite the severe cold weather, we must not let it hinder our progress, and safety precautions must be taken when using pile drivers with electricity on construction sites. In recent days, the weather has been extremely cold, and air conditioners in our residential areas and offices are running, leading to unstable electricity supply. Extra caution is needed for temporary work on roads or in residential areas.

When using electricity, dedicated switches should be installed, and the switch boxes must contain electrical equipment for leakage and short-circuit protection. Maintenance of small pile drivers and switch cabinets is necessary. If working at night, ensure adequate safety and sufficient lighting, and all lighting tools must comply with national standards. Insulating materials are not allowed. In case of short circuits or sudden power outages, our staff must evacuate the workplace promptly and have backup power sources and emergency lighting equipment to ensure safety.

For electrical installations at construction sites, cables should be used. For temporary electrical lines, specific safety requirements for electricity use must be followed. Cables that need frequent moving should be placed where they are less likely to be run over by vehicles, stepped on by people, or hit by pipes and workpieces, and must not be placed in mud or water. Electricians should power down at least once a week to check for wear on the outer layer of the cables and address any issues promptly.
